Show Notes Transcript

After two and a hafl years of recording, we are hitting the pause button to recharge and refocus. It's not a sign-off, but rather a short intermission in our content creation journey. The grind of running a business while producing content has finally caught up with us, and to ensure you keep receiving the high-quality content you deserve, we're taking some time off to rejuvenate.

While we're away, we encourage you to explore our 135 past episodes and let us know what you're eager to hear more about in our show. Your input is our guiding light, and it'll help us tailor future content to your interests. We'll keep the conversation going on social media, promoting our best work and seeking your valuable feedback. Remember, this isn't goodbye. We're merely taking a short breather, and we promise to return in 2024, reenergized and ready to deliver even more engaging and enriching content. Until then, keep tuning in, and stay excited for what lies ahead!

Speaker 1:

Hi Russ.

Speaker 2:

Dana good morning.

Speaker 1:

Good morning, how are you?

Speaker 2:

Living the dream, as it were.

Speaker 1:

So we have an update for listeners. Russ and I are going to take a little bit of a break.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. So I mean we've been running at this, you know, 140 straight weeks of dropping episodes and doing content and trying to run a business and trying to grow and learn, and I think that we're kind of tuckered out.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean we've done 135 episodes of content that we've created and then obviously our guest episodes, and it's a lot we record on Saturdays. So it's, you know, in addition to our full-time jobs, and I think both of us are feeling a little bit burned out and that we can't give. I know I was feeling like I was kind of half-assing the podcast and so we decided to take a little pause to kind of recuperate.

Speaker 2:

I think we're both kind of phoning in a little bit and that wasn't fair to our guests or our listeners and you know, trying to put out really good content. I mean we still were learning and there was still value in everything. I just I feel like it could have been better and we want to bring that to people.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so we're planning on coming back after a restful break in 2024. But in the meantime, there's still plenty of episodes that you can listen to. And let us know what you would want to see from the podcast in the future.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, absolutely Reach out and touch base. I mean, obviously it's a touch of burnout, to be perfectly honest, and we just want to give ourselves an opportunity to not crash and burn, maybe kind of rebound and come back at this stronger in 2024. We do appreciate your support and you know those of you who are here are very loyal listeners and we appreciate you greatly. We didn't want to just step off without saying anything.

Speaker 1:

And we're not breaking up. Russ and I love each other dearly.

Speaker 2:

Absolutely. This is not it, it's not me, it's you, it's you, it's not you it's me. I don't know.

Speaker 1:

But no, I think it's a good time for us to really think about what type of episodes we want to do in the future. And we're still Russ, not me. Russ is still keeping an eye on social.

Speaker 2:

So I think I'm just going to keep promoting some of our great stuff. I'm going to try to start changing our message a little bit, just so we can kind of grow our audience still a little bit more. I think there are things we could be doing better and we just don't have the time trying to run a business and I mean obviously not everybody is going to turn into I don't know who's a great business podcast, I don't know. There's some really great ones out there in the top.

Speaker 1:

Amy Porterfield or Jenna Kutcher?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, not everybody can be them, and that's okay, we don't need to be them. But at the same time, we're not making money, so this isn't a profit center for us. So we have to focus on our businesses and the things that pay our mortgage and feed our, my kids and your dog. So this is yeah, this is just. We just need to take a break. We're tired.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah. So with that, we very much appreciate the continued support and listenership and, again, it's a great time for you to give us some feedback about what you'd like to see in the future, and we'll plan to be back in 2024 with more content and maybe a little bit of redirection.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and do please interact with us on social. We don't get a lot of it and we know we weren't growing the audience there and I'm going to try to change that up a little bit.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah. So with that, I think we're just going to leave it at that.

Speaker 2:

We'll see you, we're taking a break.

Speaker 1:

It's not personal, it's just business. There you go.
